Connecting to BSC (BNB chain)
Changing your MetaMask network
Binance Smart Chain is an EVM-compatible chain meaning it can easily run with MetaMask. The first step of this tutorial is to set up a different BSC network on Metamask. Click on Settings and Networks and add. Fill details as below:
Network Name: Binance Smart Chain
New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/
ChainID: 56
Symbol: BNB
Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com
Acquiring BSC
Now that you're set up in MetaMask, you can browse any BSC dapps with ease. Each account on Ethereum also exists on BSC which means you can use the same addresses without issues on Ethereum and BSC.
To get started you'll need to get BSC native currency BNB, you can acquire it on SonicSwap or most centralised exchanges. For the latter, you can transfer directly to your BSC address via the BSC blockchain. If you purchase BNB on the Ethereum blockchain, you can cross to BSC using the bridge:
This will let you transfer BSC from Ethereum to BSC and start transacting.
